The Republic of Adygea is a subject of the Russian Federation. It is part of the Southern Federal District and is part of the North Caucasus Economic Region. The capital is the city of Maykop.

The Republic of Adygea is located in the central part of the Northwestern Caucasus, in the basins of the Kuban, Laba and Belaya rivers. The geographical location of Adygea is very convenient. It provides favorable conditions for its economic development. Railways and highways connect the Republic of Adygea with many regions of the Krasnodar Territory, the Russian Federation and the republics of the near abroad. The climate of the Republic of Adygea is moderately warm, with precipitation of 540-860 mm. per year.

In 2020, the export of the Republic of Adygea amounted to 25.3 million US dollars, which is 11.3% less than in 2019. The value of exports to non-CIS countries amounted to 15.3 million US dollars (2019 — 17.0 million US dollars), to the CIS countries-10.0 million US dollars (2019-11.6 million US dollars). Exports in the 4th quarter of 2020 amounted to US $ 8.8 million, or 109.5 % of the volumes of October—December 2019.

– food products and agricultural raw materials for their production amounted to 12.5 million US dollars, which is 2.3% less than in 2019 (main trading partners: Abkhazia, Turkey, China, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Armenia, Belarus, Germany).

– machine-building products amounted to about $ 4.5 million, which is 3% less than the volume of 2019. (main trading partners: Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Uzbekistan, Ukraine).

– chemical products amounted to about $ 4.0 million, or 120.1 % compared to 2019. (main trading partners: Israel, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Abkhazia, Germany, South Ossetia, Georgia, France, Spain, Hungary).
